This week we find out all about one of Alston Moor’s most unique social enterprises – Nenthead Community Snowplough, a community interest company, which has been successfully helping Nenthead residents keep moving in harsh winters since 2011.

The community snowplough is contracted by Cumbria County Council to clear and grit the side roads around Nenthead village and is driven by a team of 5 volunteer drivers.

You can listen below to Tony Pennell, Director and Engineer of Nenthead Community Snowplough tell you the full story.

Next time we find out all about Alston Moor Film who are really putting the ‘social’ into social enterprise with their regular film nights being a highlight of Alston Moor’s social calendar and saving people a 40 mile round trip to the nearest cinema.
