An "off the wall" Roman day this coming Saturday, 20th July, to celebrate and showcase Epiacum, Alston's Roman Fort, as well as our local heritage.  A range of activities will be taking place throughout the day in various locations in and around Alston town centre ... at the Town Hall, St Augustine's Church, SKS, Market Cross, South Tynedale Railway, ending with a celebration Ceilidh at the town hall at 7.45pm.

What started as a small group of people in Alston and expanded to form the Eden Credit Union Study Group, have received the good news that all their hard work towards establishing a Credit Union for the district has paid off. Eden Save Credit Union has been granted official approval and hopes to be open for business in Penrith as early as September with outreach points, including Alston to follow soon after.
