Alston police issue CCTV image in connection with assault

Alston police have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with an assault in the town on three women. At around 1.30am on Tuesday, 27th December, the three local women in their early 20s were assaulted by two men in the street at Townhead, Alston.

Alston Police Station still open for business

In case you haven't noticed and think it's gone completely, Alston still retains a Police Station which is now located at the Topps, Townhead just behind the old Police Station. It is not manned 24hrs a day, but officers are on duty and call in at the office on a regular basis and routine patrols are still carried out.

Police speed awareness campaign on Saturday

There has been an increase in complaints regarding anti social and dangerous driving in the Alston area. Police are therefore conducting an operation tomorrow, Saturday, 10th March in the Alston area, whereby the police in conjunction with Cumbria Fire Service will be stopping vehicles and inviting drivers to take part in a speed awareness presentations.

Report any suspicious activity to Cumbria Police

As a result of recent incidents in the Alston, Nenthead and Garrigill areas, including two burglaries at the Council Depot, a vehicle stolen from Nenthead (later found crashed on the B6277 near the border) and disturbances in Overburn at 3am the following morning, Cumbria Police are requesting that ANY suspicious activity be reported immediately.
