We welcome PCSO Dean Raine who in the next few weeks will begin his new role as Police Community Support Officer in Alston Moor and the surrounding areas. Dean would like to introduce himself to the community ...

pc dean raineI am originally from a small colliery village called Hetton-le-Hole, which is situated just outside of Durham City. I moved to Penrith in 2010 where I live with my wife and two sons.

I have been a Police Community Officer since June 2014 and since then I have worked, primarily, in Carlisle city Centre. I transferred to Eden at the beginning of September.

I have experience in many different areas and I have a pretty diverse skill set! I am a qualified Teacher of History and I taught A-level history for a few years in Hartlepool. I have also worked with The British Red Cross where I was a First Aid Trainer and part of their Emergency Response Team. More recently I was a project/fundraising manager for Age UK.

When I’m not working I like to spend time with my family. I like to swim and walk. I’m also an avid reader and have a tendency to spend too much money on records and CD’s.
