Alston Youth Hostel is located within a 5 minute walk of Alston town centre and all its amenities and is set directly upon the Pennine Way and South Tyne Trail. It sleeps up to 30 people in 7 bedrooms of various sizes. The C2C cycle route and Isaac’s Tea Trail pass the hostel. It is walker and cyclist friendly and offers low cost accommodation within shared or private rooms. The hostel is open all year round. Red squirrels can often be seen from the hostel dining room window.

Mill Cottage is a small tastefully decorated bunkhouse on the C2C route, ideal for both families and cyclists. The bunkhouse is open all year and sleeps six in individual ship cabin styled bunks. It is short walk from the pub, community shop and bike repair shop. In the 18th century, Mill Cottage was part of the home of the Smelt Mill Manager.
