On Saturday the 21st of August the staff, residents and friends of Grisedale Croft Residential Home are hosting an afternoon of fun to raise money for the Residents Amenity Fund. The event will take place in the grounds of Grisedale Croft from 2pm to 4pm and entertainment will be provided by local band the Lounge Lizards.

Police appeal for information on stolen bikes

Cumbria Police are appealing for the public's help to trace three pedal cycles that were stolen during a charity bike ride for the British Heart Foundation. The bikes were stolen from a 4x4 vehicle that was in the car park next to the Crown Hotel, Front Street, Alston, overnight on Saturday 31st July 201.
