Gossipgate Gallery & Gaslight Cafe

The gallery offers high quality paintings, photography, ceramics, glassware, turned wood and jewellery in a contemporary setting, yet in traditional surroundings. This is supported by a continuing programme of seasonal exhibitions and events throughout the year. The Gallery offers a mixture of mediums, styles, subject matter and affordability.
Alongside the Gallery is the refurbished Gossipgate Gaslight Café selling an array of light bites with fresh brewed tea and coffee. The Gallery intends to source from local providers and move down the organic and fair-trade route.

Gossipgate Gallery lies in a quiet back-lane of Alston on the way to the Seven Sisters Waterfall and Packhorse Bridge at Gossipgate which inspired the name of the Gallery. Yet, despite its tranquil setting, the gallery is only 100 yards from the town centre. To find the Gallery from Front Street , follow the brown visitor sign and take the lane between the Market Cross and the Turks Head, cross the square and take the first turning right at the crossroads. Gossipgate Gallery is situated up the hill on the left hand side.
