Eden District Council is encouraging residents to stand in the local elections on 5 May 2011 as either District or Parish Councillors. Two information sessions will be held at 4pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday 15 March 2011 in the Town Hall, Penrith for anyone interested in becoming a District Councillor.

Alston Moor Film are taking a step closer in their new role as community filmmakers ... their first project aims to involve as many local people as possible in the making of a "Views from the Market Cross" film. Concerns from local traders on proposed Spar shop
Following a meeting held on 19th November, Alston Moor Business Association have written to the Parish Council expressing their concern about the recent planning application to erect a new Spar convenience store on the site of Hendersons Garage.
