Alston Moor Golf Club

The highest golf course in England at 1,476 feet above sea level, Alston Moor offers a challenging 18 holes of golf, over its 10 greens and 18 tee positions for men and ladies.


The club is situated 2 miles south of Alston in 132 acres of parkland, high meadow and pasture land.  15 miles south of Hadrian's Wall, within the AONB, it offers spectacular views of the North Pennines.

With its small but friendly membership, the course is ideal for golfers of all abilities, who enjoy playing the game, at their own pace, in stunning surroundings.

Green fees:

  • Weekdays & weekends - £15 per day
  • After 5pm - Monday to Friday - £10 per day
  • Playing with a member Monday to Friday - £10 per day
  • Visiting Juniors playing with a member - £5 per day
  • Weeends & Bank Holidays - £10 per day
  • (Honesty box for payment, so please bring the correct money!)

Annual membership:

  • Gents and ladies full pay - £220
  • Over 65's men and ladies - £165
  • Country gents & ladies - 160
  • Weekday gents & ladies £145
  • No waiting list or joining fee
  • Juniors in full time education living on Alston Moor are offered free membership

The 17th century clubhouse is open weekends from 12 to 3pm

Parties and societies are welcome, full catering and bar facilties are available
